Vibrant Iceland Hostel

The kitchen had everything we needed, with space to store our food, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The sleeping setup was unusual, with four double-sized bunks and curtains that helped block Iceland’s bright summer nights. My only issue was the lack of lockers. We had a car, so we kept our valuables there or on our bunks while we slept.

The place was spotless, and the showers were spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the kitchen was fully equipped. I also appreciated the free coffee. The beds gave you plenty of privacy and darkness, which was especially welcome in summer. It’s a long way from downtown Reykjavik, though the bus is cheap, about $4 or 400 ISK, and easy to use with the app.

The no-shoes rule keeps the hostel really clean. It felt quite new and modern, and I liked the rooms, bathrooms, and showers. The kitchen area was great too, with a bit of a college dorm feel.

We found the stay affordable for a short visit near the city, especially with a rental car. The hostel is fairly self-reliant, and the simple beds were comfortable. Toilets were roomy and clean, with hot water. Some supermarkets are nearby, though we got most of our supplies at ones closer to the international airport.
