Loft Hostel

I felt safe the whole week, and the place was clean with kind people around. The kitchen had what I needed, and there was plenty of room for sitting and meeting others. Staff were all lovely and helpful, too. I stayed in an 8 person dorm at Loft HI for a week, and it made a great base for a busy vacation. There was ample storage, comfortable beds, and AMAZING shower pressure. The community feel was great. I wish I'd tried the bar or events, but the coffee upstairs was so good. Great week, thank you!

The bar is amazing, though I can't comment on the hostel since I've never stayed there. It's nostalgic for me because it's the first place I visit when I get to Reykjavik. If you want to see locals and hang out with intentional ones, go here. There's a great view and a nice bar. There's a dog behind the counter, and if you're lucky you can pet him, haha. They let you come in for a while and welcome you with free water, like most bars in Iceland. There are lots of games, events and activities, too. Thanks, loft 😉

The location is super central, and the kitchen stays open 24/7. I loved the terrace overlooking the main street downtown, and the bar area is a plus, with sofas, chairs and all kinds of games. It's a beautiful, friendly hostel. Rooms are cleaned daily, the staff are very friendly, and the lovely owner has a beautiful dog.

I was impressed by how clean and organized everything was, and the staff were so kind and helpful. I could leave my luggage there when I arrived early and again before my late departure. The rooftop area is amazing, and they also have a bar and espresso and coffee. The kitchen was useful every day, and I loved having all the shared space to relax in. The price was phenomenal for the amenities, and I'd recommend it to other solo travellers. 10 out of 10. I've stayed in plenty of hostels and was comfortable in the 8 room female dorm with a shared bathroom. They provide ear plugs, and everyone I met was courteous.
