Media Luna Guesthouse

The apartment had a double bed downstairs and twin beds upstairs, and the shared kitchen had everything needed to prepare food. We were one of the only groups there at the time, so we didn't have to worry about sharing the kitchen. The instructions for getting in were perfect, and it's a great base for exploring the local area.

The setting is the big draw, with a waterfall behind the place and the harbor out front. The rooms are clean, and the shared kitchen is basic but works fine. The stairs up to the two beds are steep, so I wouldn't recommend that setup for families with little kids.

Check-in was simple, and the room itself was clean. But we had only one set of towels for two guests. I messaged the host and got no reply, which was disappointing. At roughly $300 a night, I expected enough towels for the number of people listed on the reservation. I'd stay somewhere else in town.

We found this a convenient, really good option. The room was pleasant and bigger than the Iceland rooms we've had before, with enough room to move around and set down luggage. I also liked the bathroom tile and the tea choices. The only small drawback was the fridge had no freezer, so we couldn't freeze our cold packs.
