The views around By the Lighthouse are incredible, and it’s so quiet and peaceful, a real reset after exploring the city. The owners were kind, helpful, and accommodating. We arrived to a lovely breakfast treat and a well-stocked kitchen, with coffee for the French Press. Just a heads-up, the staircase could be difficult for some people. A great place to visit and stay while in Iceland.

Of all the places we stayed during our ten days in Iceland, By the Lighthouse was my favorite. From the balcony there was a sea view, and three Icelandic horses wandered around the yard. The setting was peaceful and idyllic, the hosts were warm and friendly, and their dog, Krummi, was the best boy.

We had a clean, comfortable large studio that worked perfectly for our family of four. We mostly used it for sleeping since we spent our week traveling around Iceland as much as we could. The people hosting us were really friendly, and the ocean view and wild horses were lovely. We visited in September 2022 and rented the VRBO for the week. I'd book here again.

The owners were lovely, and the dog was adorable. The studio was comfortable, good value for the money, and had an amazing view.
