Agriturismo Cascina Poscallone

Cascina Poscallone is a few kilometers from Abbiategrasso, and we spent over a week there. We had a wonderful stay, with overnight accommodation and a healthy, authentic breakfast made mostly with local products. We tried produce from the orchard and garden, free-range eggs, and excellent honey. We also bought wine from the Salemi cellars and Carnaroli rice from Madreterra, the farm company founded by the owner. The place is still a work in progress, and in a few months it should have improved accommodations and a restaurant service. You can explore the Navigli biodistrict from here on foot or by bike. The owners are so kind, and the rooms are beautiful, thoughtfully detailed, and equipped with every comfort. Breakfast is top notch, homemade with natural products, and you can buy their own specialties on site too. A peaceful little haven surrounded by nature, just a short distance from town. Highly recommended.

The whole outside gets quite muddy when it rains, and the GPS dirt road is one to watch out for. The owner kindly explained another way to get there, though that route isn’t available. Still, the quiet and the warmth of the owners and room make the mud a minor inconvenience. The room is lovely, recently renovated, with a walk-in shower, and another wing of the farmhouse is being renovated as well. Breakfast was excellent, with pastries and homemade jam from the owner, and you can buy things like rice, pasta, and eggs. The owners were very friendly and helpful, even when we had a small emergency with our dog. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Cascina Poscallone and will definitely return. Our room was new, beautiful, and clean, with a lovely clean bathroom that had both a shower and built-in tub. The rooster woke us in the morning, and we watched the sunrise in the quiet. Breakfast was with the owners in their beautiful kitchen. We had their homemade cakes and bought whole-wheat pasta, salad and radicchio from the garden, plus a bottle of good wine from their farm. Annamaria and Gabriele
