I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place. There was mold on the bathroom wall, and the room was dirty and shabby, with holes in the walls. The wardrobe was worn out and had holes too. The owner wasn’t very friendly. The photos exaggerated the standard and didn’t match the room we got. The price was far too high for what was offered.

The Wi-Fi was very unstable. I only saw one staff member during my stay, although other reviews mention more. The receptionist was polite, but on the last day she came in at 7am and turned on the lights while we were all still asleep, even though checkout was later. I expected them to come after guests had checked out. Finding the place was difficult. There were no clear signs, and while driving we took several wrong turns before reaching a random parking lot that turned out to be the right one. The main gates were locked, and we had to wait at a side door, which was locked too, then wait again by the locked main doors.

I’d accept this for $30 a night, but not $100. I wonder how the place is still in business. It felt like a few apartments on different floors pretending to be a hotel, and you can find much better accommodation in Rome for this price. The smell inside was awful. Each room had old iron keys, one for a doorway and one for the front door, three old iron keys in all. The bedding was a thin, cheap bedspread that turned out to be the comforter, with no flat sheet. The linens weren’t ironed. Breakfast was dry biscuits, there was no hot water, and no remote for the a/c. The staff seemed not to realize they had paying guests who wanted to sleep or rest. They shouted loudly from early morning until late afternoon, then disappeared entirely, with no reception staff around. It made me feel unwelcome. They show pictures of rooms with a kitchen, but in reality you can’t use the kitchen. I’ve never seen such a poor hotel.

We walked a long way to the Vatican Museum, and I’d recommend taking an Uber instead. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean enough and well kept, though the furnishings look like early Ikea. We were there in October, when the evenings were cool, but neither air conditioning nor heating was needed.
