A quiet place to switch off, with the sea close by for a swim.

Those two roof terraces are a real highlight, especially the huge one with its view over the sea and Mount Etna. The clear water is only a few meters away, so going between a swim and the terrace is easy. Inside, the rooms are roomy and tastefully furnished, and there’s plenty of everything you might need. Maria's little shop next door is worth stopping at too, with a good range of things and wonderfully fresh fish.

Blue54 was roomy, clean, and even better than the pictures suggested. Sergio made us feel welcome and helped us throughout the holiday. We loved sitting on the terrace in the evenings, looking out toward the sea, Mount Etna, and Taormina. The sea is only a 30-second walk away. We’ll be back on our next trip to Sicily!

Pozzilla itself was very quiet in May, with little happening, but the house makes a good base for exploring. There’s a small grocery shop four doors down for basics, lovely vegetables, and very good bread. At the nearby little harbor, a stand sells fresh fish until midday. The landlord’s folder of excursion tips was useful too. The house was spotless, nicely furnished, and beautiful. Downstairs are two bedrooms, a bathroom, and the entry hall. Stairs lead up to the living room and kitchen, then to a small terrace and, higher up, the main terrace with views of the sea and Mount Etna.
