The apartment had a pleasant view and was adequate, though a little dated and very close to the neighbors. Work going on in the apartment next door kept us from fully enjoying the rental, so we came away disappointed with the accommodation. Acireale is still a convenient base for seeing the region, and Sicily itself wasn’t the disappointment.

There isn’t really a beach, just a rocky way into the sea and a few tucked-away spots by the pier. Still, the clear water, lovely views, and romantic feel make up for that. There’s a fishing tavern right on the shore, open from 8:00 PM.

Eating on the terrace with the sea right below you is wonderful, and there’s private access to the water. The house was clean and tidy, with everything we needed, and the owner was friendly and extremely helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
