J24 Hotel Milano

The area is nice, with three stops to Ceneral station and seven to Dumo. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even upgraded me to a suite. But noise was the big problem: there’s no soundproofing between rooms, and over my three nights I could hear people above, below, and beside me. If a quiet night’s sleep matters to you, I wouldn’t stay here.

I was in Milan for fashion week and needed help with my dress late at night. The woman at the front desk went out of her way to find and arrange a sewing kit for me. The front desk staff were excellent.

The constant noise makes the place feel unsafe to me. You can hear people snoring in other rooms, and if you talk in yours, security may come knocking on the door in the middle of the night to tell you to keep it down. They go from door to door, when reception could simply call the rooms.

The beds were reasonably comfortable, and reception staff were kind. But the sound insulation between rooms was poor, and the whole hotel felt cold, in both temperature and atmosphere. The rooms, halls, and entrance all had an unwelcoming feel, so it was hard to feel cozy or at ease during the stay.
