The apartment needs serious renovation. Its bathroom is tiny, with just a toilet and a very small sink. Getting there means tackling 28 awkward steps in a restricted traffic zone, and the closest parking is about 500 meters away. It's also beside a busy road that stays noisy late into the night.

The only thing that matches the listing for Casa Romeo, Acireale city center is how close it is to the Duomo. The photos on the various websites must be years old, because the place clearly needs urgent renovation. There are mold marks on the walls and ceilings, water-damaged doors, and a chandelier that doesn't work. I've never encountered anything like it. I don't understand how other travelers call it well kept. I have photos showing what I've described and can share them with anyone interested.
