Hotel Sonne

The food was a real highlight. Each evening had a different 5-6 course menu, and every course was incredible, some of the best food ever. We stayed for 3 nights and were blown away by everything: the clean, modern room, the beautiful views, and the perfect hospitality from the staff. Highly recommend! 💗

I went there a few times as a kid, around 10-15 years old, and came back this year with friends. Perfection. Gerd remembered me, I think, and though we speak no German, we had tons of fun. The crew is sociable and fun, and the food is crazy good. We're three big eaters and they gave us double portions 😍. I don't like Après-ski or busy resorts, and I don't want bad, expensive French or Suisse food. Austria isn't so great food-wise, even if there's plenty of it. Going back this winter with my girlfriend, and in low season with my friends. 100% recommend! Thank your Gast Hof Sonne!

The location is nice and rural, and the room was modern and pleasant, with a spacious, clean shower. But the check-in and service were a mess. Two teenage boys were playing computer games at the desk, so we had to ask the bartender to check us in. She said she needed to keep our passports and tossed them into an unlocked drawer. Then she handed us a keychain with no room key and blamed us for not having one. At night, we could hear everything from the restaurant downstairs late into the evening. At breakfast, we were told to leave the large table where we'd sat down to eat a roll and yogurt, even though the restaurant was practically empty. When I went to pack the car at checkout, a man outside yelled at me to move it because he needed the space, although the hotel had told me to park there. It felt like the place was being run by underage teenagers and a clueless owner. The location was great, but I'd suggest staying somewhere else.

We'd have loved to stay a few more nights at this wonderful hotel in a small village just before the Stelvio pass. It's modern and very clean, and the staff are friendly. I can definitely recommend it.
