We went in February and the village was already striking. It's romantic, pretty, quaint, private, and welcoming, with a feeling of being far away from everyday bustle. Acireale is only two minutes away, and there are plenty of restaurants serving Sicilian dishes made with fresh fish. I'll definitely come back, especially to see how charming it is in spring or summer.

The coast here is shaped by Mount Etna, with striking black cliffs below the green Timpa, so don't come expecting broad sandy beaches. In summer there's a free beach on stilts that makes getting into the water easier, though beach shoes make the rocky shore much more comfortable. While you're here, visit Mulino beach and its little gulf. You can get to this pretty seaside town by car, but parking may be difficult in high season. Public transport isn't especially frequent, and you can also walk from central Acireale along the now-famous Chiazzette.
