Daily housekeeping kept the hotel clean, and that was the best part for me. The area felt charming and local, just outside Catania, with a big market right by the hotel on Friday evenings. That market also meant a lot of noise in the rooms, which aren't well soundproofed. On other days it wasn't an issue. The hotel is a fair distance from the nice beaches, so I'd rent a car to see other places. You have to buy your own water, and there was no iron. They didn't even have a basic band-aid and told me to go buy a pack at the pharmacy, which surprised me for a four-star hotel. Breakfast was a bit dry, but fine for four days. With the cleanliness and location, I'd probably stay here again.

The staff made us feel welcome and were helpful throughout. We had a very spacious room, and breakfast was really good. The hotel itself was nice and centrally located.

The rooms felt ancient, and ours, room 115, had mold spots along the bottom of the curtains. The shower glass was filthy. There was no Smart TV, kettle, coffee or tea, or anything in the minibar, though drinks were available downstairs. We paid 113 euros for one night, plus 20 euros for parking, and had to leave the car key at reception. Breakfast was a joke: just cakes, boiled eggs, and some cereal. Maltese, British, American, and other guests who want a decent breakfast should stay away. They also charged 6 euros city tax after skimping on breakfast and charging for parking. Someone gave us a bottle of red wine as we were leaving, which we appreciated, but it didn't change my view. This place should be two stars. No hate, just constructive criticism. Next time, I'll avoid the town altogether.

The town and setting aren't very inspiring, and there was no water in the room or way to make a drink. The bedroom was comfortable with plenty of storage, and the bathroom had a very good shower. The hotel is well appointed, and the dining room service was excellent. The food was good, though the choices were limited. A mix of good and not so good.
