Agriturismo Sant'Angelo

I love trekking, and this place is ideal, in Rufeno National Park, with glorious countryside and winding roads across Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Acquapendente is also fascinating, especially for its Pugnaloni festival, an annual contest where artists make huge, intricate works from flower petals. I just missed it, unfortunately, but did see the pieces on display in the church. Definitely worth seeing if you're here in May. The agriturismo is also well placed for San Casciano, just a few kms away, where 24 Etruscan-era bronze statues were unearthed and made news around the world. As an artist, I was especially interested in seeing where they were found. San Casciano also has a superb spa affiliated with the property, and Bolsena is a stone's throw away. Elisabetta, Diana and Alberto were fabulous hosts, their warmth made the stay so enjoyable. Elisabetta's knowledge of the area, as a proud local born to the region, was second to none. The owners' kindness, friendliness and helpfulness made us feel right at home. The apartments were spacious, comfortable and very clean, and the location is great for visiting the area's main attractions. We had a wonderful stay, and will definitely return. Highly recommend it if you're after a few relaxing days.

Elisabetta and Diana were always attentive to what we needed, and made us feel at home. Elisabetta also gave us precious tips on sights to see and restaurants and trattorias where we could eat well. We needed exactly this kind of holiday and found a little corner of paradise. The apartment was spotless and welcoming, and the property is beautifully maintained down to the smallest details. From the farmhouse and manicured garden to the clean apartments and pool, everything here is amazing. Even in the scorching heat these days, it's always breezy, so you can still breathe. This place surprised me enough to earn a rare five-star rating. A real oasis of peace and tranquility, highly recommended :-)
