The staff were kind and understanding when we raised the room problems, and they gave us a €20 discount for the inconvenience. The price was quite good, and breakfast was decent, though very basic: mostly sweet, with homemade cakes, pies, and fruit, and only a few cured meats. There was no real savory breakfast, and some desserts that looked a few days old were served again the next morning. Our first room had a broken shower and lots of dust on the nightstands and under the bed. We’d booked a double, but were given two single beds with different mattresses, and both were truly uncomfortable. After we complained, they moved us to another room. The bed there was comfortable, but there was still plenty of dust under it. My suitcase got dirty when I put it underneath. I’d recommend the place to people who aren’t allergic to dust, as it could make them very ill. The rooms need much more attention to cleaning.

The food deserves a special mention. We ate really well, with mostly local dishes made from good ingredients and prepared with real skill. The building is dated, but clean and tidy, and the rooms are spacious. The staff are friendly and proactive. From here, it’s easy to get to the area’s main attractions.

The restaurant is the best part, with excellent, generous dishes. The hotel is in a handy spot for outings on foot or by car, and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms were spotless. Breakfast was good, especially the extraordinary carrot cake, though the savory options could be better.

The room was comfortable, and dinner was both tasty and generous. They also worked around our requests. The location made it easy to reach the hiking trails to the Vurghe, and the natural hot springs are close by. We could use the pool with sulfurous thermal water and a whirlpool. The full spa, with its Turkish bath, sauna, and heated whirlpool, costs extra, while spa treatments and massages and the like are discounted.
