A lovely spot surrounded by nature, and a great place to unwind. The host was attentive and really nice.

The staff were friendly, but our stay didn’t match the positive reviews. We’d booked an upstairs room and found several problems: the toilet wouldn’t flush unless we went up to refill its water, there was no shower door, and the hand soap was watery with a broken spring button. The loose toilet seat also wasn’t secured to one of its two back hooks. Breakfast came as one dish per couple rather than a buffet.

The food was excellent, and the place itself had plenty of charm. Mrs. Laura, her son, and her husband were so friendly and polite. Everything was superb. Highly recommended.

Laura made us feel so welcome in Macerino. Our apartment was spacious, with large rooms and a refrigerator, and the village restaurant was just a short walk away. Breakfast was delicious and sweet, and we had dinner there one evening too, with typical local Umbrian products. Laura was great to talk with. She gave us useful advice for avoiding the “complicated” roads Google Maps suggested and told us about the history of Macerino Castle. A really good experience, highly recommended.

The owners are so friendly, and the food is excellent, even for vegetarians. It’s a great place to get some peace and feel close to nature. :-)
