B&B Mirò

Breakfast wasn’t being served during the Covid period, even though every other B&B we stayed at over our 12 days in Sicily had found a way to adapt. They also required cash, and even encouraged it, because there was no card terminal. In 2020, that was unacceptable. We’d travelled all of Sicily with only €100 between the three of us, so we had to make a special trip to withdraw money, walking 30 minutes there and back. When I paid, I asked for a receipt and was told it would be emailed, but two weeks later it still hadn’t arrived. We stayed two nights as three people. Since we called at the last minute, only a double room with an extra bed was available. The room itself was fairly spacious and pleasant, and the beds were comfortable, but adding the third bed made it cramped, which wasn’t really the manager’s fault. The B&B is on the seventh floor of a building with an elevator, in a rather run-down part of Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi are reached by car, so the location didn’t matter much for those visits. But walking to the center takes about 15 minutes uphill, so I’d look elsewhere if that’s important to you.

We paid €428 for two nights in a small apartment for two, without breakfast. It was clean and modern, but some things felt unfinished, as if the place were only half done. The apartment is in a very run-down neighborhood. The manager was attentive, though we didn’t see him again after the first day. It was okay, but far too expensive for what it was.

Breakfast on the balcony, with a view across the Valley of the Temples, was a lovely way to start the day. The apartment was fantastic and had everything we needed. Riccardo, the owner, went out of his way to meet our needs and showed us the different sights and charming places worth seeing as soon as we arrived. I highly recommend this well-kept property.

Riccardo was incredibly kind and happy to accommodate all our requests. We spent two nights at the B&B and had a really nice time. The place was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!
