The location makes it easy to get around, and the owner shares helpful local information in several languages. She’s so kind and makes sure you’re looked after. Our room was tastefully decorated and had a balcony, and breakfast was Sicilian. Every detail felt thought through. This little guesthouse was a lovely surprise, and we’d definitely return to Agrigento.

After sightseeing, we booked the spa for an extra charge. It has a sauna, a hydromassage bath and reclining chairs, and was a relaxing way to end the afternoon. Tiziana and her husband also shared good local restaurant suggestions and knew the area and Montalbano well. Their hospitality and comfort were what made Corte Atenea Guest House Experience and Spa stand out. The Junior Suite was modern and beautifully presented, and breakfast featured high quality local products. The guesthouse sits just off the main street in Agrigento’s historic center. Booking through their website was straightforward, and before we arrived they sent useful travel advice on WhatsApp. Their suggestion to take the bus from Palermo Airport instead of the train saved us time. It was a memorable holiday, more than just a visit. Thank you, Grazie mille!

Tiziana’s fluent English was a real relief for us. Over more than a thousand miles of travel in Sicily, we Americans were surprised by how often the language barrier came up, from reading road signs quickly to dealing with toll booth operators and shop owners. Her language skills, along with the local stories she shared about nearly everything at breakfast, made her a wonderful ambassador for the community. She speaks several other languages too, and recommended restaurants for both nights we spent in town, along with other places to see. Corte Atenea Guest House sits in a quiet, lovely alley just off Via Atenea, right along the scenic walking tour Rick Steves recommends in his Sicily book. We had bought it before our trip, and Agrigento was high on our list for the Valley of the Temples and its archaeological museum. Rick also suggested exploring the modern city, and we were glad we did. Tiziana, a welcoming hostess, and her husband Gaspare have years of experience in hospitality and created a B&B with modern comforts and a feel for local history. The area has a limited traffic zone, but Tiziana explained where to park outside it. After we dropped off our bags, she even offered to drive us to and from our chosen parking spot and insisted on helping with the luggage. Dealing with parking away from the B&B was a worthwhile tradeoff for the location. Cusà was just a thirty second walk away for a fabulous dinner, and Pasticceria Infurna, with its amazing gelato, was a few steps around the corner. Somehow, despite all our walking, we didn’t lose any weight. My wife and I stayed two nights in Agrigento during a Sicily trip for our 30th anniversary. We were so pleased with Corte Atenea Guest House that I felt compelled to write about it here and elsewhere. We didn’t use the spa room the couple added to the B&B, but maybe we would have if we’d stayed another day. Thanks to Tiziana and Gaspare for their generous hospitality. We wish them lots of success.

The hosts clearly put a lot of heart into this place, and it was lovely talking with them. Breakfast was generous and authentic, and our new room had every comfort. The property is elegant, well cared for and right in the city center. The private spa adds a relaxing touch. We’d be glad to come back 😊

We chose this B&B for a weekend and were very happy with it. The hosts were the first thing that won us over: so kind, helpful and welcoming, with useful advice that made the stay even better. Our room was spotless, new, tastefully decorated and comfortable, a great place to relax after a day out. It’s just steps from the center, so walking around is easy, while the B&B itself stays peaceful. The spa is small but charming, carefully maintained and private. It had everything we needed for a bit of rest and well-being. All in all, a five-star stay. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for genuine hospitality, modern comforts and a chance to unwind. We’ll be back!
