Villa Carlotta Resort

My wife and I visited in late June and were amazed by the B&B. The pool area felt very exclusive, and the whole place had a calming vibe. The staff were nice, parking inside the gates was easy, and breakfast was included and really nice. You'll be better off with a car for getting to and from the B&B.

We booked at the last minute and it turned out to be really comfortable and good value. The rooms were open and airy, with our own outdoor space, and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The bathrooms were clean, breakfast was pretty good, and the pool looked great. It’s outside the main part of the city, but that worked out well.

The pool was well kept, breakfast was a generous continental spread, parking was adequate, and the internet was fine. But the arrival started badly: we waited almost an hour for the owner to open the front gate. Our room was sparsely furnished, with a little balcony table and chairs where we could sit outside and swat mosquitoes. The fridge was switched off and broken when we arrived; the replacement worked, though its freezer door was broken too. The bathroom was old and the shower pressure seriously poor. The towels were very worn and weren't replaced after we left them on the floor, soiled. The cleaner insisted on hanging them up to dry, even though it was obvious we wanted fresh ones. Staff seemed grim-faced, and the owner ran things in an obliging but rigid way. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have chosen this place.

The kids loved the breakfast and the owners were always around to help. We slept really well in a very comfortable room with a top bed. It had the personal feel and small size of a B&B, with the comfort of a hotel. Best place we stayed in Sicily. Lovely people, and the kids loved it. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay!
