The Pinto family’s welcome stayed with us throughout our seven nights in September. B&B Baia Di Trentova sits on a peaceful hillside above the bay, just a couple of kilometers from Agropoli, yet it feels secluded and rural. You can walk or run down to the public beach in about 15 minutes, though the climb back takes some energy. With no car, we walked into town in roughly 20 minutes, used the reliable taxi service for around €15, or took the local bus. There are marked trails through coastal woods towards Castellabate, good for walking or jogging, with special views of the sea. We took one through the woods, where bee-eaters chattered overhead. Komoot has the routes, and after the walk to Castellabate, there’s a bus back that stops a couple of kilometers from the B&B. The family’s food was so good that we ate there more evenings than planned. On nights when they weren’t serving, Adriana’s recommendations led us to dinner in town. Breakfast was generous and varied, with local cheeses, honey, and fruit. Just when you think you’re full, Adriana brings out freshly baked cakes and buns. The rooms and breakfast terrace look over the bay and its hinterland, including the vineyards that produce the local fiano wine. Sitting with a glass and that view was a treat. The rooms were spotless, well equipped, and maintained, without any fake boutique hotel fuss. The family paid attention to what we needed while giving us space, and helped us make the most of the visit. Adriana speaks excellent English. Adriana and Oreste run the place, while Nonna patiently works on traditional Calabrian dishes. Oreste’s brother Dominico makes local cakes and desserts, and their spirited young daughter and son help serve on special feast nights, when the whole family pitches in. There’s a kind of honesty and authenticity here that’s getting hard to find, at a very competitive price. We loved our stay.

The setting is wonderful, with a lovely outlook across the hills and sea. Our room was modern, comfortable, and well kept, with a roomy terrace. Breakfast was fantastic and had lots to choose from, including fruit, eggs cooked to order, and homemade jams. In our case, the cappuccino was also made with care.

This was our favorite stop on a ten-day trip to Italy, where we spent the final three nights. The B&B sits on a hilltop with beautiful countryside and ocean views. Our room was comfortable and clean, and had its own patio with a lovely view. Adriana was warm, welcoming, and communicative the whole time, and shared lots of suggestions on places to visit and travel tips for the area. We enjoyed delicious, beautifully presented breakfasts and dinners on the outdoor patio. It’s a very special place, and we’d highly recommend it and love to return.

The view over Baia di Trentova is beautiful, and the owners are very friendly. Rooms are spacious, modern, nicely decorated, and clean. Breakfast is superb, with homemade cakes, fresh fruit, and eggs prepared to order. Highly recommended! They also run a wonderful Osteria (Ubbipò) and offer cooking workshops.

The evening at Ubbípò was our favorite part. Nonna's fresh, simple cooking was some of the best Italian food I've had, and the aperitivi, antipasti, sunset, and homemade digestivi made the whole night special. It's their in-house osteria, open only a couple of nights each week. We were amazed we had found B&B Baia di Trentova. Adriana and Oreste were so welcoming, and their tips for beaches and nearby towns really shaped our trip. It was lovely getting to know them and seeing the other guests enjoy themselves too. The view was beautiful at any time of day, with the sea on one side and the valley on the other. We were glad to have a car for the beach and exploring, though walking into Agropoli for dinner was quite manageable. Breakfast was fantastic and fresh: eggs cooked to order, meats, cheese, tomatoes, good bread, fruit, pastries, yoghurt, and more. We could choose each day whether to have it, which made it easier to keep our plans flexible. Thanks again, Adriana and Oreste, for looking after us so kindly. We'd love to return.
