Villa Malandrino Guest House

The view was absolutely stunning and the rooms were spacious, but that’s where the positives end. The owner was rude, aggressive, and made us feel unsafe. At 8pm we needed help, and instead of treating us like guests he shouted and swore at us, made aggressive movements, and essentially told us to ***k off. He threw a key at my head. We were terrified, so we ran upstairs and locked ourselves in our room. There’s no real reception, just the owner’s lounge, where he seems to sleep most of the day and gets exceptionally irate if woken. Our room wasn’t clean, and the old bedding had holes and cat fur. Our friends’ room had been double booked, possibly by mistake. Once that was sorted, they reasonably asked for the room to be cleaned after the previous guests, but he acted like it was a CRAZY request and swore at them too. He let himself into their room twice without knocking. Once he came in with a lit cigarette in his mouth and looked through the wardrobe while their things were inside, dropping ash on his clothes. It’s cheap, but basic respect and cleanliness still matter. I can’t be clear enough: don’t stay here. It needs to be shut down or taken over by new management.

That view is something else 🤩 We were in room 1, probably one of the best rooms because of the balcony, but it was very worn and definitely needs updating. It was usable, and the shower had great pressure and nice hot water. The bed was two singles pushed together on an old metal frame that creaked, with lumpy, uncomfortable mattresses. The linen was cheap and well used, but clean. I woke up with my back feeling like I’d been run over by a train. The road up is narrow and bumpy, so take care, though it’s manageable. The pool was lovely but too chilly for a swim, and the area around it was a bit tired, though perfectly okay. The rooms could use a kettle and coffee setup. This place could be sensational with a facelift. It’s very reasonably priced, but I’d pay a bit more for a comfortable bed. And Peter the dog is gorgeous, so take him a snack. He looks tough but is a big softy.

The rooms, service, and pool setup were amazing, and the views are beautiful. Probably the best place in Agropoli if you have a car. Lidia Melcón

I should have read the bad reviews more carefully before booking. My experience turned out much like those described by many others: an old building, poor cleanliness, and a rude, aggressive owner. I was honestly scared because he seemed clearly upset. A place to avoid!
