The service and welcome were excellent, and the gelato was a great way to finish. I wasn't keen on the fried food, though that was probably because I'm from another region and was expecting batter instead of the breading that may be typical here. My colleagues from the Marche love it, which is why I gave it a try. I did appreciate the creative touch of frying some fruit, too. At last, a restaurant around here that lives up to its name. The first courses were refined but simple, without the over-the-top style that's so fashionable now. To me, that kind of cooking just shows the chef's lack of understanding and diners' appetite for sensational Instagram posts.

I've been coming here since 1982, and it feels like home. Mrs. Maria Luisa is an institution. The food is excellent, and the desserts and ice cream are superb. The hotel is welcoming and super clean, so every stay has left me very satisfied. Highly recommended.
