The small monument to Nelson notes his involvement in a sea battle against the French in Alassio bay in 1795, something I hadn't known about. Beside a busy road, a brick wall is covered in hundreds of tiles. A few are interesting, though most won't mean much to visitors who don't know Italian.

It's an interesting tile mural along one sidewalk, and makes a nice photo stop. Pretty, but not something that'll leave you amazed.

A pleasant little pause during a walk around Alassio. There’s a couple's statue, along with lots of memories shared by people and cities from all over.

Lots of lovely shops and bars here, including some high-end places. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.

The town itself has such an idyllic layout, and the people are kind and gentle. Alessio is lovely, with Nelson, Hemingway and others having spent time here. I've heard it's best to avoid the school summer holidays, when the town gets overrun.
