Hotel Langhe

We were welcomed here in August, and Mr.Nico’s kind, hospitable manner made the stay really pleasant. Our cozy suite had a large terrace with a lovely view over the grapevines and mountains. It was a peaceful spot for morning yoga and meditation. When we pass through Alba again, I’d stay here with my family.

The garden is beautiful, and the staff were very kind and almost always available. Breakfast was nice, but there were lots of mosquitoes, both there and at reception, and I got bitten a lot. The bed was very comfortable, the view was nice, and the bath had plenty of hot water. The towels were clean and good. There was no toothbrush, electric kettle, or window netting. The floor wasn’t very clean, and a slipper wasn’t replaced after it broke. The hair dryer was old and dusty. The air conditioner worked, but only had on and off, so sometimes the room got too cold, and there was no blanket.

We had a lovely pool and outdoor area with plenty of loungers, and our family room with its own terrace was great. Breakfast had a lovely spread too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our one-night stop before heading to Lake Garda. Thank you!

The bed was enormous and really comfortable, and we had a nice stay for our October truffle-hunting visit to Alba. Still, the property didn’t quite live up to the photos on booking.com and the reviews I’d read. Breakfast was a pretty standard Italian buffet, with an 80s feel. It’s fine if you’re touring the region and just need a night’s sleep, but don’t expect much beyond that. Edit: I’m taking off another star because the property tried to flag my review as “offensive” so it wouldn’t show. Not professional.
