Albergo Belvedere

Alessandro was the bright spot of our stay. He welcomed us warmly, was very friendly and helpful, and shared tips about the area. That was the only thing I really liked about the hotel. We booked nine nights but left after four because staying there became unbearable for my family. We lost money by cutting the trip short and moved to another town for a better hotel. The room had no ventilation or fan. It felt like sleeping in a sauna, and we were sweating all night. I bought a fan for the kids so they could at least sleep. We couldn't leave the window wide open because of the mosquitoes. The bathroom also needs serious renovation: it looked dated, there was mold in the shower, and an electrical outlet was nearly coming off the wall, which felt dangerous. The location was difficult for us. It's about 500 metres from a very busy beach made of stones and crushed stone rather than sand. The hotel is uphill, and there's another 500 metres uphill to the area's main hospital, which brings a lot of traffic. The road looked quiet on the map, but at night it was as noisy as a motorway, with scooters and some cars revving as they went uphill to the hospital and homes. People in the area were also loud in the early hours, around 2 or 3 am. In summer, you may not get much sleep anyway. Cleaning was acceptable, but nothing special. Breakfast was limited to croissants, some cornflakes, and different kinds of coffee, with no hot food, meat, bread, or fruit. The Wi-Fi never worked, though EU visitors can use their own data allowance. Parking fits only two cars, and finding a street spot can be hard, especially with a larger vehicle.

Breakfast was really good, and Alessandro gave us such a warm welcome. A lovely place!

Cozy little hotel, with really friendly people. A nice base if you're heading farther down the coast.
