The rooftop dining area was gorgeous, and before we ate we got a personal tour of the castello. The Sangiovanni family hosted a cooking class that was both fun and informative. It was a real highlight of our trip to Salento, and I’d definitely suggest visiting and booking an event if you get the chance.

We went for a cooking class and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful, the family were warm and knew their stuff, and the food was fantastic. The whole atmosphere really stayed with us. A great thing to do if you’re visiting southern italy.

Breakfast under the portico, in the palace’s citrus grove, was generous and lovely. We had a spacious room with a terrace running up to the old medieval walls. Mr. Carlo and the staff, especially Federica, were attentive and available whenever we needed something or our plans changed. The palace feels magical and is easy to reach by car. Thanks for making our holiday feel so special ✨

The interior is kept in meticulous condition, and the current owners manage the place very well. It’s a beautiful historic residence in central Alessano, in the heart of Salento, with elegant decorations and origins in the late 1400s. The Gonzaga family used it as their noble residence in the 16th century. It’s a great setting for different kinds of ceremonies, only a few kilometres from both the Adriatic and Ionian seas, and about 12 kilometres from Santa Maria di Leuca.
