Alisma

We stayed for three and a half days. The place seemed very nice at first, but we asked the man at reception for a room for four and got a triple instead. He then removed the bunk bed, which had no guardrail or ladder. The sink leaked, and the staff seemed to have only just started. My husband ended up fixing the sink and showing them how to make coffee. We will never go back.

We had a relaxing stay surrounded by woods near Lake Barrea, with the town close by and the ski slopes only a few kilometers away. The hotel is clean, welcoming, and well equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The New Year's Eve dinner deserves a special mention: the food was excellent and good quality, the meal was complete and well organized, and the service was attentive. Highly recommended if you're after a restful stay and good food.

We went with friends, and the rooms all seemed full of old dust. Breakfast was a disaster, with hardly any choice or food available. One waiter was doing everything, making coffee, setting tables, and bringing out just four croissants at a time when asked. The jam was four months past its expiry date, and the apple pie was old and rock hard. We waited in line for coffee while the waiter set tables that weren't needed then. He also handled everything with his hands and wiped the rims of the cups. We told the manager how bad it was, but they didn't even take the no-breakfast charge off the room rate. We definitely won't return.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Alisma in Alfedena. The hotel is welcoming, and the staff are kind and helpful. Its spot in the woods is convenient, close to town and just a few kilometers from the ski slopes and Lake Barrea. The New Year's Eve dinner was good and high quality. Recommended.
