Green Sporting Club Hotel

I lasted 30 min before wanting to leave. The door fell off, the bathroom was completely filthy, and the rooms were outdated and dirty. There were bugs in the bed and all over the room. The A/C barely worked. Don't stay here if you value yourself at all.

Alghero itself made the four weeks pleasant enough. I usually walked to the seafront restaurants for dinner, and spent weekends around the central docks. I was working in Porte Torres and had a rental car, so the hotel’s location near Viale Giovanni helped me skirt the congested center on the way to Alcide Gasperl. If you need to spend a month on Sardinia, Alghero is fine, but I’d choose a different hotel. There are much better options. The coast road is popular with motorcyclists, so watch your lane on its many bends. Locals seemed a little clannish, though I take that sort of thing in stride as a world traveler. I had a bilingual inspector with me, so communication wasn’t an obstacle when we needed things. Some merchants speak English, but not all. I used an electronic translator, and when needed, typed a request in my language and showed its translation. To the owner: I did stay four weeks, although it was some time ago. What dates were you referring to? I don’t write fake reviews. I suggest people read some of the recent posts about your place, including comments about dirty conditions and bad food. I was actually polite and didn’t mention any of that, I simply suggested looking elsewhere. Arrogance, ignorance, and deceit are bad traits, especially together.

The pool is huge, and it was often empty. Breakfast was nice, and the staff were very kind. It’s not far from downtown. Thank you.
