Hotiday Alghero Spiaggia

The room was clean, but a lot of it felt outdated. During our three-day stay the electricity went out about three times, once for around an hour. The advertised Wi-Fi didn't work for at least half our stay, and there was no kettle or glasses. After asking, we were given a kettle and small plastic cups. Breakfast was decent but very limited, with little variety, especially for vegetables. The only tomatoes were unripe and very hard. The noise was another serious problem. A group of more than 15 children were placed directly above our room that evening. They ran, banged, and shouted well past 10:00 PM. When we told reception, the staff shrugged and said to “be patient” because the children would go to sleep soon. The noise carried on for at least another hour. They did nothing to address it, which was unacceptable. We stayed at Hotiday Alghero Spiaggia, which operates inside Hotel Soleado rather than as a standalone hotel. Nobody made that clear beforehand. At arrival, we were told we had a “standard room,” which does NOT include a sea view. It faced a side street, with only about 10% partial visibility of the sea. The online photos are misleading if they leave you expecting a sea view. We'd already noted during booking that we wanted one, so the staff should have had that information. Instead, the receptionist asked where we'd written it and said there was no such request on record. We asked for a sea view room in advance. First we were told the hotel was fully booked. When we pressed the issue and even offered to pay extra, they said we had to contact the Hotiday company and wait for approval before any change. That was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. Most disappointing of all, we contacted Hotiday right after check-in with a formal complaint and request for a sea view room. More than a week has passed and there's still been no response. This was very poor customer service. The stay fell short of expectations and certainly didn't reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. We wouldn't recommend this accommodation.
