Breakfast in the beautifully preserved monastery on the first floor was a highlight; monks still use the third floor. That gave the stay a peaceful, authentic feel you don't get in most city hotels. Hotel San Francesco was quiet, full of character, warmly and attentively run, and excellent value. It's right in the city centre, a tranquil spot, and we'd definitely return.

It's an old building with a local feel, right in the quiet heart of the old town, and the location is good. The owners were friendly and helpful, and kindly offered breakfast even though we were a little late for it. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom smelled a bit, and the air conditioning worked fine. All in all, good value for the price.

A great stay in a perfect location. Francesco and the staff looked after their guests so well and made my visit unforgettable. If you're driving, parking on the surrounding streets is busy and expensive, and finding a free space takes a lot of luck. I found free parking about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

The staff have been great, and breakfast was simple but did the job. Rooms are basic but comfortable. The shower is very small, though, and washing your lower legs is a challenge.

The location is superb, with restaurants right downstairs and downtown just a few minutes' walk away. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful, and reception did carry our luggage because there was no elevator. They weren't much help, though, with suggestions on where to go or what to do around the city. The room was tiny and smelled really bad, apparently because the bathroom had no ventilation. The beds were very small even for us, and we're petite compared with most Europeans. You can't adjust the AC temperature, and it was pretty loud at night. Breakfast was okay and fairly standard, but exactly the same each day.
