The rooms were clean, bright, and roomy, and the internet worked well. Dinner tasted good, and I especially loved the orange croissants at Hera Hour. The housekeepers, restaurant team, and other staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was the same each day and had limited choices; maybe that's because I'm Asian and used to more variety, so that's just my personal view. I did feel the front desk could give guests more attention. Ms Francesca, the Hotel Public Relations Manager, listened to my feedback and came over quickly when I was uncomfortable. I appreciated that, and Hera Hour too. Everything else was good.

The New Year's music and dancing were a lot of fun, and the spa was relaxing and very family friendly. We booked for the New Year's party because we wanted a family friendly place. Our room was pleasant, well maintained, and spacious enough for four, though the property itself felt a little dated. Food was the weak point for me. Breakfast was solid, but not as fresh as at other places I've stayed in southern Italy. I'd give the New Year's dinner 7 out of 10: a few courses were good, while the rest were lacklustre.

Dinner and breakfast were the surprise here, both were really good, and the restaurant was excellent. We found L'Araba Fenice Hotel & Resort in Altavilla Silentia by chance online when it was getting late on our drive from Salerno toward Materna after renting a car. It was about 13 km from the highway and seemed like the best fit. In November, we got a spacious room for a very reasonable price. We arrived late in the rain, so there wasn't time to enjoy the modern-looking resort. The hotel service was friendly, and we got by very well in English. Thank you, L'Araba Fenice!

Dinner was a highlight, with a short menu that still had variety and changed each evening. There was also a great wine cellar collection, and we got good help choosing wines. Breakfast was good too, and they served my coffee the way I asked. The staff were really nice and helpful. I can see why people choose this place for celebrations with friends and family.

The rooms are comfortable and even soundproofed, and the pool is beautiful. There's also a spa. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a great facility and would suit weddings well. Breakfast, though, is minimal.
