For 30€/night/person, you get what you’d expect: shared accommodation that can be noisy, a mediocre breakfast, a smelly bathroom, and a place that feels a bit shabby, even though the owner tries to tidy and clean each day. It’s more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel, and would suit backpackers and night owls, but not families. The host is super nice and explains everything about the apartment, even the light switches. It’s in a nice neighborhood a little off the beaten track, with good restaurants and bars, plus a supermarket, pharmacy, gelateria, and everything else you might need nearby. Finding it is tricky, as there’s no sign apart from a label by the doorbell, and Venice addresses work a bit differently.

The host was nice, but the building was very poorly lit. With no Air Conditioning, you have to leave the window open in summer, which brings in mosquitoes. The mattresses and pillows were hard.

Vincento is a really nice owner, always helpful and reachable throughout the day. The place was about what we expected for the price, and may be one of the cheapest options in venice for a solo traveller or a couple. There are three bedrooms with a shared bathroom and living room. The small kitchen has a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and a fridge with freezer. Breakfast is included, but it’s nothing special: packaged crossants and toast, cheap Marmelade, butter, some apples and banana, a little joghurt and cerials. The rooms are spartanic, with stone floors and a window that wouldn’t close all the way, very "original venician".

The owner was an excellent host. The place was neat and very clean, close to the terminal but not right next to it.

The host was welcoming, and breakfast was included. There was also a coffee machine and hairdryer. The apartment had a real Venetian atmosphere and was conveniently close to everything. But the bed linens were awful: dirty, pilling, and made of cheap synthetic material. I couldn’t bring myself to lie down on them, though love and romance work wonders. The flimsy bed, made from two separate beds, even felt a bit piquant.
