We had a wonderful two-night stay at Palazzo Pulieri and hope to come back as soon as we can. Set near the top of Altino, the Palazzo is unbelievably beautiful, with breathtaking views. The rooms are lovely, and guests can use the reading rooms, dining room, and outdoor terraces. The host was incredibly warm and generous. What a gem.

Valeria made us breakfast every morning, shared her local knowledge, and even helped book a restaurant. She’s mastered Google Voice Translate, so we could have fairly complex conversations. Filipino manages the palazzo and was very pleasant and quick to respond. He met us when we arrived and called the next day to see if we were okay. The house itself is incredible, a 15th-century mansion in a lovely, quiet little town. Once the front doors open, you see its old-world charm, but it’s still comfortable to live in. The bedrooms are comfortable, and we could use the whole noble house, including its library and lounge rooms. It felt like living in a piece of history. Altino is about 20 minutes from the mountains and 25 minutes from the beach, and makes a great base for exploring, with plenty to do if you plan ahead. There are very few tourists, so it felt like an authentic glimpse of old Italy. We stayed two nights and should have booked longer. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and beautiful away from the tourist trail, this is a great choice.

The owner and his mum were very friendly. The Palace is a unique gem, with huge rooms that are beautifully decorated and well looked after. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was good and offered plenty of variety. The property is well maintained, and the owner and staff are very friendly. Great value for the quality, and I’d highly recommend it. 👍
