The view was outstanding, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The shuttle made trips into and out of amalfi very convenient. We were so glad we stayed at hotel doria, where the staff are wonderful. Thanks to Simona and everyone else, it was a pleasure 😎😍😆. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting amalfi.

The staff were friendly and the area was quiet. Getting to the city center takes a while, though, so you're reliant on the hotel's shuttle unless you have your own transport. A taxi from the center costs 40 EUR.

DONT STAY HERE!!!!!! My room was closet-sized and smelled bad, and I started itching badly as soon as I went in. I've never had this kind of skin reaction before: my skin turned red and irritated, and several welts appeared on my feet. I can't tell whether there were bed bugs, some other bugs, or an irritant in the room. I waited a few minutes, but the itching got unbearable, and I didn't want to risk taking bed bugs or lice with me, so I quickly booked another hotel and left. At the front desk I asked for a refund. The clerk said I'd need to get it through expedia but that it shouldn't be a problem. I called expedia today and learned the hotel had already been paid. Expedia asked the hotel to authorize a refund, but they refused and gave no reason beyond saying it was against their policy. They acknowledged what had happened and that I hadn't stayed there, but still wouldn't return my money.

Set high on the hillside above the outer edge of Amalfi, this is the place to stay. The accommodations, staff, and amenities were excellent, and there's a shuttle into downtown and back.

Breakfast had a good spread, and the view was nice. It's a 10-minute drive from Amalfi, but the shuttle worked fine. Great service, too.
