The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The hotel is a little away from the city center, which gives you a chance to enjoy some nice walks. It’s showing its age: water leaks onto the floor from the shower, and the shower tap whistles even when it isn’t being used.

This family-owned hotel on the quiet island of Grado is run by Kasia and Oreste, who make sure there’s a warm atmosphere and professional service. The beach is within walking distance, and it’s a peaceful place to relax with great food. Chef Sylvio serves home-cooked dinners buffet-style, with traditional Italian seafood and a range of Italian dishes. Take a moment to talk with Silvio, he’s passionate about his kitchen.

At 60 euros for two people, this was a good deal. The place was clean, had air conditioning, and parking cost just 4 euros a day. Lots to see nearby, plus places to eat, get pizza or ice cream, go for walks, and shop.
