Villa Maria

We paid almost €1,000 for three nights booked through Booking.com, but the room was old, awful, and smelled of fried food. There was a restaurant directly below the window, and the cooking smells came right inside. It was impossible to sleep there, so I asked to move rooms and was refused. I had to leave and find another hotel at the last minute. The experience was terrible, and the service was horrible. Now they won't refund me. Just thieves! I absolutely don't recommend this place.

We had to set off before breakfast and the front desk opened, but the staff packed a whole meal for us to take the next day. So incredibly sweet. The breakfast itself was wonderful, and the nearby restaurants were all nice. Everyone on staff was amazing and genuinely kind. They were helpful with boat tours, motorcycle rentals, and bus tickets, and it’s an easy trip down to Amalfi if that’s what you’re after. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

The view is something else, and we really loved our night here while backpacking along the Amalfi coast. We’d heard a well-thought-of recommendation to stay above Amalfi to get away from the crowds, and it was a gem. It’s right on the trail, near great dinner spots and groceries. The atmosphere was lovely, and the rooms were comfy and full of character. Breakfast was good too.

Pogerola sits high above Amalfi, and after busy days driving around the crowded roads and villages, coming back here to a peaceful haven was such a pleasure. We could enjoy local food without the hordes of tourists, with a few wonderful restaurants just steps away, especially Osteria Rispoli. Andrea and Antonio were welcoming and incredibly helpful. The B&B was delightful, with spotless rooms decorated in traditional local tiles. Highly recommend.
