B&B Casa Casotto

Casa Casotto is a wonderful spot if you’re after nature, peace, homemade cakes at breakfast, garden figs, and breathtaking views. We first stayed here two years ago with my husband and dog, then came back this summer for about 20 days with our little daughter. It takes a few twists and turns to get there, but the cool air and scenery make it worthwhile. The property is surrounded by greenery, a few kilometers from the sea and the center of Amantea, and has a small pool, swing, and children’s walker. With only three rooms, it’s very peaceful. They’re cute and clean, and the small apartment with a kitchenette works well for families with children. The owners are discreet but always available, and their friendly manner made us feel at home, or really, on vacation. Highly recommended!

A lovely, bright veranda is where they serve an excellent breakfast of homemade cakes and jams. The owners are friendly, and the shared areas are well looked after. The pool was still empty this month because of the temperatures. The rooms have great attention to detail, and the panoramic setting is excellent. It’s only a few minutes from the coast, but the road is quite rough and I wouldn’t recommend it to inexperienced drivers, especially in bad weather. Skip the high heels, too, as the grounds have dirt paths and stone steps.

The view is fantastic, and the setting feels welcoming overall. The property is finely furnished, the staff are always smiling and helpful, and breakfast is good. It’s a shame the place is a bit out of the way: the narrow hill road can be bumpy in places, so the trip to the sea is scenic but challenging. The first room we checked into smelled musty, and the towels weren’t the best. Still, it’s excellent value for money.

Casa Casotto is a magical place with a breathtaking view, away from noise and chaos. My partner, our furry friends, and I felt right at home thanks to Maria Luisa and Pino, who pampered us with figs and delicious jams. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED B&B. Thank you, Dona and Nico.
