Il Carrubo Capri

We wished we’d stayed longer. The quiet setting in Anacapri and the beautiful gardens made Il Carrubo wonderfully relaxing, and we’re already planning another trip. Corino, one of the four lovely hosts, greeted us with a big smile and homemade iced tea. Within ten minutes we were in the pool with a Limoncello Spritz. Breakfast was amazing, with homemade granola, toast, eggs, and even French toast. We also had lunch and drinks there each day, including delicious pasta and bruschetta. The bus stop is 10m from the front gate, with quick, efficient links to all over the island. There are rooms for different group sizes and budgets. They were all very clean and tidy, and had AC. We can’t recommend the place enough and hope to be back soon.

The hosts were full of helpful island advice, from beaches to local restaurants, and even helped us book tables with the best views. They also shared stories about living on Capri, which made the stay feel personal. They were friendly without being over the top or intrusive, and were there whenever we needed them. Our room was beautiful, very clean, and comfortable. It was peaceful, away from the noise of Capri town, and from the balcony we watched the sun set over the sea and the moon shining on the water at night. Every corner felt cozy and welcoming. The only small thing I might improve is the soundproofing between rooms, though that may have been due to where our room was. We barely noticed it, and it didn’t affect the quiet of our stay. I’d still give it a perfect 10/10 and recommend it to anyone visiting Capri. We’ll definitely stay again.

We loved how easy it was to get into Anacapri for dinner or drinks, with a bus stop right at the gate and a walking path into the center. Il Carrubo itself felt peaceful and beautiful, away from the crowds. Our room was clean and roomy, with a gorgeous sunset over the ocean from the terrace. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the pool never felt crowded since there were only a limited number of guests. The family and staff were so kind and accommodating. We’d definitely recommend it for a calmer Capri stay.

The hosts made everything easy, from getting us settled to helping us around the island. Even with more luggage than we usually bring because of a wedding, the taxi from the marina to Il Carrubo’s door and the bus into town were simpler than we expected. We stayed in a first-floor room by the pool, with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom and shower. It’s a quiet spot with beautiful views, good meals, and some of the island’s best hiking right outside. Anacapri is about a ten-minute bus ride away. We’d come back.
