Villa Floridiana

Our family is already dreaming about future reunions at Villa Floridiana. We booked all 8 rooms for my daughter’s wedding, with a mix of quadruples, singles with nearly double-size beds, doubles, and other room types. Each was fantastic, full of details that brought out the grandeur of the old villa alongside modern amenities. The bathrooms were great, with windows looking onto gorgeous views. It was late September, and although the hotel has AC, we didn’t need it because the nights were fairly pleasant. The grounds were beautiful and romantic, with gardens, a fountain, and a large piazza where you could eat. Going from room to room, we felt almost as if we lived there already, and wished we could stay forever. The included breakfast was delicious, and we felt right at home chatting with the restaurant workers. Coffee and cappuccinos were made to order and were to die for. What really made our stay was the people at reception. The owners and workers were simply amazing, helpful, funny, accommodating, and flexible. Melissa, the owners’ daughter, handled several tasks perfectly. Her husband is an amazing chef, Silvia was a worker who became our friend, and although the mamma, the owner, doesn’t speak English, you could see her heart of gold and how continually hard she worked. Melissa helped us so much with the wedding, printing vows five seconds before the ceremony, doing an updo for my daughter, helping with pictures, calling florists at the last minute, and everything in between. She’s truly a gem. We hadn’t known before arriving that they do weddings and events. There’s so much more I could say. Go to Villa Floridiana, you’ll love it as much as we did. For a one-night stop on our way from Rome to Naples, this was excellent value. The room in this charming old house was quite large and comfortable, and the staff were very nice. When we checked out, they even gave us a box of homemade cookies for the road.

The restaurant was superb, with impeccable food and service. Our host Mirco and the rest of the staff impressed us, even by our high Los Angeles standards, and we had the best meal of our six-week European vacation across Portugal, Spain, and Italy. We stopped for the night on our way from Rome to Naples. This former private home has become a gorgeous boutique villa, with lovely grounds and a beautiful garden in the Italian countryside. Truly a gem if you’re in the region.
