B&B Le Stagioni

The best part of our stop in the Murge was how warmly Mr. Leonardo and his wife Maddalena treated us. After cycling for miles in the rain, cold and tired, we were greeted with coffee and a chat about local sights and curiosities. Mr. Leonardo knows so much about the region's art and nature, and gave us plenty of useful tips. We realized we'd only seen a little of Puglia on our trip and will have to come back. They even shared fresh melon and Signora Maddalena's delicious olives and eggplant with us that evening. It felt like being part of the family. We were there for one night during a long cycling trip through Puglia, and the setting was peaceful and green, at the foot of the Castel del Monte hill. The estate has a large, carefully kept forest and garden full of plants and flowers. Our room was in a renovated annex of the main villa where the owners stay during tourist season. It was warm and welcoming, with a practical bathroom and extremely comfortable beds. The fenced property meant our bikes could stay safely on the porch beside the room. Breakfast was packed with local specialties: friselle, cake, pastries, quince jelly, and delicious homemade cherry jam. They gave me a jar of jam, which I treasure. We also loved the pleasant walk to Castel del Monte, an absolute must-see. On the morning we left, we got a sweet surprise. A young male fox, about two years old, had made a den on the B&B grounds. The hosts put out fresh food for him every day, and he comes to eat. He was alert and wary, ready to run at sudden movement, but let people come within about two meters. He calmly kept eating while we chatted a few feet away, then trotted off with his head held high. What a wonderful sight. We'll always remember this relaxing oasis of peace and beauty, and the genuine kindness of the people who welcomed us.

Maddalena welcomed us with bruschetta and a jug of fruit juice as soon as we arrived. Her husband, Mr. Leonardo, was just as friendly. The room was clean, cozy, and very well cared for, in this little paradise surrounded by nature. A lovely surprise. Some people are sent to earth by the Lord Jesus to make other people's lives richer. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Leonardo was attentive throughout our lovely, peaceful night here with our two children. He welcomed us warmly and was always available if we had questions. Our Italian isn't great, but we still felt his hospitality. It makes a perfect base for visiting Castell de Monte. The only small downside was a slightly strong smell from the treated tap water, though it isn't really suitable for drinking anyway. We'd love to return. Thanks so much for having us.

We had a private entrance, so we could come and go whenever we wanted. The room was clean, distinctively furnished, and had everything we needed, including air conditioning. Its own bathroom was a real highlight, since we don't always find one in the room at the bed and breakfasts we visit. The property sits in greenery, with a beautifully kept garden. The family running it was friendly and attentive. They welcomed us discreetly, offered helpful suggestions about places to visit and eat, and even recommended the best routes. Breakfast was generous, homemade, and authentic. It really has everything. Highly recommended!
