Hotel Ponti

Breakfast was generous and tasty, and one morning we could have it on the terrace overlooking the lake. It rained the other day. Our suite was clean, practical, and nicely soundproofed, with a pleasant balcony and effective air conditioning. We had a good two-night stay, right in the center, about a minute from the lake and near several great restaurants. The staff made us and our dog feel welcome. We booked a lake-view room, though trees partly blocked the view from the first floor, so I’d suggest asking for a second-floor room. There’s street parking free or for a fee, but no private hotel parking. We also appreciated that dogs are welcome.

We slept terribly. There was a carnival across the road, and at 4am we were woken by what sounded like furniture being dragged around in the room above us. The room we got also seemed smaller than the one we booked online, though they called it an “upgrade”. I’m not sure whether the photos had been wrong or misleading. None of us got much sleep.

We could easily walk to the ferry and the swimming area by the lake, and there was a park for children close by. The family room was fantastic, roomy, and split into two rooms, with simple, fresh decor. The showers had great pressure, and breakfast was varied and lovely, with a great lake view from the terrace. Staff were super helpful, and the lakeside location was perfect.

I especially enjoyed the breakfast restaurant on the 3rd floor, with its spectacular view. The hotel feels new and lovely, and the rooms are spacious, mixing traditional design with a modern touch. The bathroom in room 207 was beautiful.
