Camping Village Parco della Gallinara

Our worst camping trip in Italy, and we won’t return. The description was misleading. We paid 64 euros a night for two people and got no toilet paper, dirty bathrooms, and only 3 minutes of hot water for a shower each day. Pool entry cost another 10 euros per person per day. The pitches were shady and fairly large, but poorly maintained.

We paid 85 euros a night to camp, and that included just one 3-minute hot shower per day. There was no hand soap or toilet paper in the bathroom. That may be common at Italian campsites, but at this price I expected more. The pitches were large and shady, though lots of rubbish had been left behind. We chose it as the last stop of our four weeks in Italy because the website showed a pool with slides, despite the high cost. When we arrived at 7pm, we learned pool entry wasn’t included and a day pass would cost 48 euros extra. The website was really misleading about what came with the stay. It felt commercial, as if nobody cared about guests’ experience. The place felt like a compound with all the gates and security. Entertainment was said to be part of the price, but it was in Italian, along with the general campsite quality. Really disappointing. This was the worst campsite we stayed at in Italy.

Campers beware: pool entry is included only with the most expensive pitch. Otherwise it costs 12 euros per person for the day. Bathrooms have neither soap nor toilet paper, and you get just one 3-minute hot shower a day.

The internet was spotty, and the karaoke evenings got a bit loud for us, though nothing unbearable. We stayed in the brand new Aqua Village in Aug 2024. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and close to both the pool and beach. Staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The grocery store was fully stocked with everything we needed at normal prices.
