Il Riposo del Gladiatore

Maurizio is a wonderful host who came over right away when we couldn’t figure out the key box. The box is just behind the spot where you enter the code, and you pull at the top. There are two flights of stairs and no elevator, which wasn’t an issue for us. The suggested parking options all charged, but we found a large free lot on Via Garibaldi about five minutes away, a block or two southeast of the Via Torino and Via Garibaldi intersection. The apartment is spacious and delightful, with everything we needed: a refrigerator, fully equipped kitchen, Nespresso machine, washing machine, and drying rack. The big windows open onto the main street, where we could watch the passeggiata, but closing them made the place completely silent. We stayed at Maison Bondaz last time we were in Aosta, just down the street, and this place is far superior. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve included a photo of the front door because it has no address or sign to show it’s the right place. It’s right across from Eden Le Bistro, a lovely spot for morning coffee, spremuta, and a piccolo pannino.
