Hotel Weingarten

The local wine selection was exquisite and went beautifully with the meals. The food was a real highlight too, with authentic Italian flavors and fine local ingredients. Set in a picturesque spot, Weingarten has breathtaking views and easy access to the region's charming attractions. A paradise for anyone who enjoys good food, wine, and scenery. I can't wait to return!

The breakfast was what I liked most: fresh fruit and vegetables, lots of muesli, yogurt, tea and coffee, and a juice maker. There was freshly baked bread, croissants with different fillings, and several kinds of jam. A cook prepared eggs right in front of us, which I found impressive. We had a wonderful time at Hotel Weingarten and would give it 10 out of 10. We'll definitely come back. The rooms were amazing and impeccably clean, and staff in every area were attentive and super friendly. The location made it easy to reach nearby attractions. Amenities include a large parking lot, a relaxing sauna, a refreshing pool, and a stunning large lake with a breathtaking view. It's definitely worth a visit.

The main hotel staff and management made us feel unwelcome for all four days of our family stay. We never felt accommodated, and when we asked for something, it felt as though we were intruding rather than paying guests. The laundry issue was especially bad: we requested one load, washed and dried, and were told it would be ready the morning of 2 days after at the latest for 35 euro. It took 3 days, and we were charged more than 115 by the piece because they had decided to do 4 loads instead. When we tried to discuss it, nobody took responsibility. The front desk listed reasons it was our fault, then made us call the woman who was on duty when we dropped it off, while we were trying to leave for our train. We travel for work and holidays all the time, spending over 100 nights a year in hotels between us, and have never encountered such poor service and management. There were some good points: the restaurant staff were young but very kind and polite, and the natural outdoor pool is unusual, with lovely seating and a striking view of the local church. The rooms were clean, and south-facing balconies were quite nice when available. But food was generally poor. Breakfast was nice, while lunch and dinner fell short on quality. The rooms felt dated and were very hot in summer, and the garden amenities were worn, including broken ping pong paddles. We were given a broken high chair for our son. We had to pay for food for him at 6 months old, but when we asked for puréed versions of the main food, the kitchen couldn't prepare anything, so we stocked up at the local grocery store instead. There are so many lovely places in the area, and I would recommend staying and eating elsewhere.

The pool and spa were great, and breakfast had a really good selection. We enjoyed the hospitality, professional and helpful service, and amazing food. We'll definitely be back. If you get a chance, this is a hotel everyone should try.
