It was absolutely freezing.

At least the price was low. The so-called breakfast was just one good croissant per person, plus either coffee or juice and a glass of water. The little three-star hotel feels stuck in the '90s, especially the furnishings and bathroom cleanliness. The shower was tiny, with mold in the wall and stall corners. The toilet looked like it had never been cleaned, and neither had the toilet brush holder. There were no toiletries. The room felt impersonal, though it seemed clean.

We stayed overnight. The people were kind, and breakfast was very basic, the sort of thing you'd have at home: a croissant, toast, jam, a packaged tart, and whichever drink you asked for.

They were welcoming and tried to help, even though it was late. The air conditioning couldn't be fixed that night. By the next day they still hadn't managed to repair it, so they gave us the keys to another room.
