Residence La Vigna

After a long drive, it was disappointing to find no water or milk in the fridge, and no coffee, tea, soap, or anything like that. For the price, I think they could’ve provided those things, or charged another five euros for them. The place itself was clean and roomy enough, and the toilet ventilation was noisy. Reception is at another hotel a couple of minutes away, where the receptionist was a nice guy. Aside from that, it was good.

The vineyard view was the best part, and the location felt nice and romantic for a longer stay. The rooms were clean, the kitchen had plenty of equipment, and check-in was pretty straightforward. There was no hairdryer, so bring one. For just one night, the price felt a little high, though the stay was good.

The pool was small but really nice for the kids, and there’s a little whirlpool too. The place is tucked behind the big rock, away from the lake, among vineyards, but Torbole and Rive are both under 10 minutes by car. EUROspar is a great supermarket, about 1.4 km away. Still, the price of 210 EUR a night didn’t come close to matching the room quality. The apartments felt old and broken in most places, and right after we opened our room, the light switch came off the wall. There was no kettle or hairdryer, and the beds were so saggy that even the kids had backaches after our two nights. There’s no reception on site either, so you have to go 2 km to another hotel to pick up the keys.

Out among the vineyards, the building has a lovely countryside setting and a great view. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, and there’s an elevator, a pool, and parking. Riva is easy to reach by car.
