The breakfasts were excellent, and Maurizio and Paola clearly did everything they could to make us comfortable. Their daughter Monica was a big help in planning our outings. We came away impressed by the hospitality, and will definitely return to this B&B. Maybe we’ll come back to cinqueterre for its beauty, but this B&B is what will bring us back for sure. The house is beautifully decorated inside and out, with several terraces and a lovely garden. It was very hot at 5terre while we were there, but the evening air at the house cooled down nicely. It’s a great base for Cinque Terre and the wider area too. Sarzano was a real discovery, and its osteria "panzallegra" was the setting for one of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. Maurizio’s cooking was tasty and generous, with original combinations and a perfect wine. We were warmly welcomed from the start. We don’t understand Italian very well, but we managed to communicate with the owners in such a charming way.

You’ll need a car to get to this hillside B&B, about a 15 minute drive from La Spezia city centre, but the view over La Spezia is beautiful. The rooms, garden, and poolside are lovely, clean, cozy, and relaxing. Best of all are the owners, Paula & Mauricio, who are the sweetest and most welcoming people. Do yourself a favor and spend an evening on the terrace enjoying Paula’s home cooking, prima Italian food! A little piece of paradise. We hope to return someday.

The owners made us feel so welcome, and breakfast was great. The rooms are themed and really cute, too. It’s a lovely, peaceful place. One thing to plan around: nearby restaurants close at about 9pm. The BnB can also make dinner specially for €25 per person.

Paula and Mauri were such hospitable hosts, and Paula is wonderful in the kitchen. Each morning brought a different breakfast featuring local specialties. We had dinner there once, too, and the authentic three-course meal felt like being spoiled at home by a stellar Italian Mamma 👌 The setting is idyllic and makes a great base for hiking in the cinque terre. We’ll be back!!
