Graziella Patio Hotel

The hotel is nice and very central, but bear in mind that breakfast is included for just one person. For two, it costs 15 euros per person, which seemed too expensive for what was on offer. I found a much better-value breakfast at the nearby Bar Stefano, with amazing pastries for just a few euros. There can also be quite a lot of noise, especially at weekends. I was tired and managed to sleep, but light sleepers should keep that in mind. The rooms are on two floors, so you have to go up and down to get your things.

The room was much more spacious and comfortable than we expected, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were in an inner courtyard, so outside noise wasn’t an issue. But our room wasn’t soundproof, and a loud young child in the room next door woke up early. It felt as if we were in the same room with her.

I spent one night in room Cobra Verde and came away very disappointed. The room was narrow, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable, with thin, uneven mattresses. If you turn onto your side, you feel like you might fall off. There was also unbearable street noise until around 2am, and breakfast was disappointing. The hotel wasn’t cheap, either, so I wish I’d booked somewhere else.

This is a nice old hotel right in the city center, and a great base for seeing Piero Della Francesca's frescoes. Basilica of St Francis is just next door. Getting there by car is a little tricky: you can drive up to the hotel, but need to park outside the old center. It’s not far to walk.
