Good food, and the place was nice and clean.

We really enjoyed the quiet countryside setting between Ascea and Casalvelino, especially the vine-covered pergola under the stars. The owner and his assistant made us feel welcome, and the homegrown vegetables brought out the taste of the area. There are also rooms and small apartments, plus a lovely pool. The scialatielli was the one small letdown: it was overcooked and had too much chili, even though we'd been warned about that.
Dogs are welcome here, and the larger apartments have suitable arrangements for them, which is unusual around the area. We found the agriturismo peaceful and well organized, tucked into greenery. Angelo and the staff were very kind and welcoming, and the food stood out for its traditional Cilento products.
We appreciated how willing Vanina and Angelo were to try to meet our tastes and needs. It's a peaceful spot, full of flowers and plants, with good food and wine and none of the distracting noise. There's a beautiful pool among banana and other fruit trees, and you can pick and eat the fruit. The rooms feel a bit old-fashioned, but they were comfortable and clean. We had a great time. This is a simple place focused on nature and friendly hosts, not a chic, trendy sort of place.
We went for dinner one August evening and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The owner was wonderful, and the service was just as good. The food was super good. We have to try it again, and we'll definitely return.
