Laura - One Bedroom No.2

Laura was a friendly, helpful hostess, speaks fluent German, and gave us useful tips about the area. She even arranged a guided visit to the Velia excavations for us on the spot. The hotel is small and quiet, new or newly renovated, with spacious rooms. Both the beach and Velia archaeological site are within walking distance. Breakfast had everything we wanted, even though there weren’t many guests in the off-season, and charging our e-bike was easy.

The pool area was a real treat, with a well-stocked bar for lunch or a relaxing drink. I was able to order different tasty mixed salads, and there were plenty of loungers by the large, spotless pool, under swaying palm trees. At times we had it to ourselves, looking up from our sunbeds and feeling almost in the Caribbean. The sea is also close, about 300 metres along a pleasant walk. We booked a studio for a July couple’s trip and planned on one week, but stayed nine nights instead. It was new and spotless, with a fully equipped kitchenette and a lovely terrace overlooking the pool and palms. It had a table, chairs, drying rack, and all the comforts we needed. Breakfast was a highlight too, with lots of choices and especially good desserts. The croissants came in different flavors, there were biscuits and homemade cakes that changed from day to day, and even a homemade pancake we had with chocolate. I rarely find cappuccino with almond milk, but they had that as well. Five-star breakfast for me. Thanks to Laura and Pietro for making the week so lovely. They gave us helpful suggestions for places to visit and eat, and we enjoyed their company as well as Mr. Antonio’s. Pietro also helped us sort out a car problem. When we go to Cilento, Villa Laura will be our recommendation.

We came away wanting to return next year. The pool is huge and peaceful, great for a swim or some sun, and the poolside bar was a lovely place to have lunch and unwind. Breakfast was generous, with homemade biscuits and cakes that we really enjoyed. Pietro and Laura deserve a special thank you for being so kind and available. They helped us pick beautiful places to visit and suggested excellent restaurants. The rooms were modern, meticulously looked after, and spotlessly clean. The residence went well beyond what we expected. Five stars, if I could give them!

Pietro was especially kind and had great advice for us. We spent a week here as a couple over Ferragosto, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. Our new two-room apartment was spotless, with a balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, and a drying rack. It was cleaned every day, so it felt like hotel service. Breakfast was superb, particularly the desserts that changed daily, and we loved the croissants. The sea is about 300 metres away on foot, and the beach was quiet with good food. For Ferragosto, the hotel made a special breakfast cake and later put on a small aperitif by the pool. A good choice if you’re looking to relax.
